Kraven Cauthen, Chair

Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) "is the safe school initiative of the National Center for Fathering.  The objective of Watch D.O.G.S. is to "encourage men to volunteer to improve school safety and to be a role model for children."  www.Fathers.com is the website of the National Center for Fathers.
Go to WatchD.O.G.S. for further information on the program, activities and  ideas on how the PTA can get fathers involved with children and their schools.

The PTA Great Idea Bank allows you to find and share ideas for increasing male involvement in the PTA.  You are able to submit and trade these ideas on the website.

Go to the PTA Great Idea Bank at www.pta.org for information.

New Jersey, PTA and Character Education, Perfect Together!

By virtue of membership in your individual PTA and your residence in the state of New Jersey, you gain many perks. You are a member of National PTA and NJPTA and all the rights and privileges included in that distinction. You are also citizens of the state of the union that is the trailblazer in Character Education!

The commitment to Character Education by the State of New Jersey is unprecedented throughout the country. The New Jersey Character Education Partnership (NJCEP) Initiative was announced in January 2000 as part of the Governor's State-of-the-State message. The purpose of this initiative is to assist public school educators to adopt validated character education programs that will meet the developmental needs of students throughout New Jersey by promoting pro-social student behaviors and creating a caring, disciplined school climate conducive to learning.
